We were all so busy in Grange during Halloween week. Children from Junior Infants to Sixth class got involved in a host of spooky themed activities. Here is a small taste of the fun we had coming up to our mid term break. We can see Junior and Senior infants on their Halloween walk, 4th and 5th with their very impressive masks, 2nd with their ” Witch” song and the whole school led by Mr O Toole doing the “Monster Mash”.
On Friday 8th April, 6th class went on retreat to Glendalough.
Our retreat was led by Sister Margaret, she brought us on a hike where we took in the spectacular scenery and reflected on the life of St.Kevin.
We saw St. Kevin’s cell, the round tower and walked around the monastic site. Over the course of the day, Sister Margaret led us on a journey of reflection and prayer.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable and spiritually fulfilling day.
The children all throughout the school have been enjoying a range of art activities.
Here is a selection of all their creative work.
6th class have been learning about “The Celts” in history recently.
The class were split into four groups and were given the challenge to create a model of a Celtic Roundhouse or Crannóg.
As you can see from the pictures, all the students produced fantastic projects. The winning team got sweets and homework passes!
Well done to all!
Massive congratulations to the boys on the school football team who have reached the Cumann na mBunscol finals this Wednesday evening, 21st October. They played their hearts out on Thursday last to beat Ballinkillen N.S. There was great excitement with the game going to extra time before Grange N.S. emerged victorious. They will play Drumphea N.S. in ” The Centre of Excellence” Fenagh on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. under lights. We wish them the very best of luck!
The boys and girls have really done us proud this year. Recently the girl’s football team reached the semi finals where they were unfortunate against Drumphea N.S. Both teams have trained hard under the guidance of Mr Ger Twomey and Ms Laura Courtney. Huge thanks to both teachers for all the time they have given to these teams.
We all look forward to Wednesday evening. Best of luck boys!
The children in 6th are busy preparing for their Graduation Mass tonight which is taking place at 7.30pm in their class. Good luck and enjoy the night!
This Summer the children have written a list of activities they would like to do or places they they would like to visit, making their very own ‘Summer Bucket List’. From the looks of it they will be very busy. The children in 6th class also reminisced on all the memories that they had of their time in Grange N.S and made kits to as part of their Graduation art. Take a look at their great work!
