First Class

As part of the digital initiative that has begun in the school, 1st class prepared Christmas stories of their choice and spent a few weeks illustrating and preparing a narrative to tell the stories in their own words. Well done to everyone involved, they all worked incredibly hard.

First class have been practising their Irish Rólimirt recently. The much needed “Who owns this” was learned and put into use throughout the school day. The children have been making good use of their learning as you can see in the short video below.

In the early weeks of October, 1st Class have been busy exploring 2D shapes both at home and in the school’s environment. They have been exploring the pictures that can be created by combining these 2D shapes, and also going on a hunt around the school using the iPads to photograph some shapes they observed.

In the gallery below you can see some of the children busy at work taking photos when hunting for 2D shapes!

This lesson was a nice introduction for the children to Maths Week, which commenced Monday 17th October and will run for the duration of the week. Examples of the children at work for Maths week will be showcased on our Home Page.
